Library Science uses
extensive studio experimentation in its recordings – employing tape echoes, field recordings, live and sampled instrumentation, drum machines, and spring reverbs. Their process is to write a song, build the arrangements inside their recording machine, then "dub the song out" by deconstructing, processing and mangling the music through effects and experiments.
Live, the band has taught itself to play in a style that is usually created through recording techniques. This involved each member learning how to stop and start playing as if a recording engineer had just turned on or off that instrument's particular channel in the recording.
